Lebanese Wine and Lebanese Arak: At the very heart of Lebanon lays the Bekaa Valley, home of Chateau Kefraya's vineyards, which line steep terraces of Mount Barouk, 9 miles south of the city of Chtaura. In the early 1950's, 750 acres of the best Mediterranean varietal grapes were planted on a panoramic site that rises to a height of 3000 feet above sea level. Its chalky, stoney soil and six month dry and sunny seasons produce perfect conditions for the creation of wines of great character. Built at the very center of our domain, the cellars of Chateau Kefraya are fitted with highly sophisticated equipment for the careful handling of our selected hand picked grapes. The oenologist and viticulturist are French trained. Utmost care is taken to ensure that every traditional step is followed to make great wines. All of the wines are "mis en bouteille au chateau". The winery has a long collection of medals which have been awarded on a world wide basis. |

Kefraya Le Comte De M 2006
The quintessence of the oldest vines of Château Kefraya, this wine derives from a skilful blend of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Syrah, and Mourvédre, aged in French oak barrels. It is already considered the greatest vintage wine of Lebanon.
In color, deep and intense purple red, Comte de M 2006 expresses a complex bouquet mingling cedar, havana and the aroma of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant, redcurrant). Rich, dense, voluminous, concentrated, it develops in amplitude in the mouth and ends with the tang of vigorous and fine tannins.

Chateau Kefraya 2006
This wine has a nice, deep red robe, lively and brilliant. The scent is vinous but is still a bit hidden. You will find some notes of ripe fruits, grapes roasted by the sun and slight floral aromas. With aeration, you will also discover vanilla and lacteous smells. In the mouth, this wine is savory, supple, fleshy, followed by a nice length with soft tannins. It recalls fruits macerated in alcohol.

Les Breteches Red 2007
The robe is brilliant, carmine with light purple-blue tints. The scent recalls crushed red fruits, like red-currant and blackberry, and also grilled almond. In the mouth, this wine is soft and unctuous, round and fleshy, with a bit of acidity. Les Bretèches du Château Kefraya is, at the same time, rich and nervous with fine and discrete tannins. You can taste it rapidly but it matures nicely in two to four years. It should be served at a temperature of 16 to 18 degrees C.
Case of 12 (750 ml) $120
or $11.00 per bottle

La Dame Blanche 2009
The robe of this wine is pale; a blonde and limpid color with some green tints, depending on the light, almost translucent. The scent is fine and delicate, with flavors of white fruits, vine blossom and broom. In the mouth, this vine is fluid and long. The taste is lively, acidulous, tonic fruity and floral. La DameBlanche du Chateau Kefraya recalls youth and freshness. It has to be tasted at cool temperature.
